Those 33 states are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
  • CO - The Colorado employment application was updated to include carefully worded questions and required legal disclosures. The salary history question has also been removed.
  • VA - The Virginia employment application was updated to include additional protected characteristics based on recently passed laws prohibiting employers from discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, and status as a veteran.
  • CA - The California employment application was updated to include a scheduling question addressing the applicant's right to withhold information that may disclose religious creed, age, or medical condition.
  • NM - The New Mexico employment application was updated to include additional protected characteristics based on the recently passed law prohibiting employers from discriminating against pregnant women and new mothers in the workplace.
  • WA - The Washington employment application was updated to include additional protected characteristics based on the recently passed law prohibiting employers from discriminating on the basis of citizenship or immigration status.
